About
Ashley
I’m a private chef and registered dietitian based in New York City and the Hamptons. My work is rooted in a love of exceptional ingredients and a belief in food’s ability to create joy, connection, and a sense of occasion, whether around an everyday family table or at an intimate gathering.
my approach
food, hospitality, & gathering
My understanding of food has been shaped by both nutrition and the kitchen. I earned my master’s degree in Food and Nutrition from NYU, became a registered dietitian, and spent nearly two years cooking professionally at Blue Hill. Together, those experiences taught me to pay attention: to the season, the integrity of an ingredient, the way food makes us feel, and the people for whom it is being prepared.
Today, that perspective carries through everything I do: cooking for families each week, welcoming guests around a dinner table, teaching people in the kitchen, and creating meals for retreats and special gatherings. At the center of everything I create is the belief that food is one of the most meaningful ways we care for ourselves and one another. My work is about bringing more curiosity, joy, and connection to the ways we cook, eat, and gather.

2000's
cooking with my mom as a kid
Family dinners were a central part of the daily routine. From a young age food was important – it was a sign of love, connection, celebration, and creativity.
2011
started noticing food's impact
As a teenager I still loved to cook, but I also spent most of my non-school hours in dance classes. I became fascinated with how food impacted performance and this sparked my interest in the science behind food.
2012
decided to study it
At 18 years old I decided to study nutrition and embarked on my journey to become a Registered Dietitian. I spent my summers working on an organic farm in Amagansett, New York.

the dietitian chapter
Between 2018-2022 I worked in various roles as a dietitian - New York Nutrition Group, Elitra Health, Lenox Hill Hospital, BALANCE Eating Disorder Treatment Center. Throughout these experiences I continued to cook and write for different publications.
now
all things food
I now balance my time between my role as a cook at Family Meal at Blue Hill, teaching cooking classes, and seeing private clients.

at the end of the day, i believe—
THE BEST FOOD HONORS ITS INGREDIENTS, REFLECTS THE PEOPLE IT’S MADE FOR, AND GIVES US A REASON TO GATHER.
